Reflexology is a relaxing and restorative complementary therapy. By stimulating reflexes on the feet (or hands or face), reflexology supports optimal functioning of bodily systems that may have become stressed and unbalanced with the pressures and strains of everyday life. Reflexology supports the body by reducing tension and stress and promoting an internal environment for healing and optimal functioning.
CALM & BALANCE - THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR WELLBEING
Nervous system support
Reflexology is deeply relaxing and as such it is a very powerful tool for supporting the nervous system. In modern day life many people, for a variety of reasons, develop an imbalance in their nervous system regulation. Often people find themselves “stuck” in a sympathetic state where stress levels are high.
This sympathetic state is often referred to as the “fight or flight” response and in short bursts the sympathetic nervous response is incredibly important, but when it becomes persistent and chronic, we can begin to feel the downstream effects of this in negative consequences to our physical and psychological health and wellbeing.
Rebalancing and supporting the nervous system so it can adapt appropriately and function mostly in a restorative parasympathetic state (commonly known as “rest and digest” mode) is incredibly important for reducing stress and tension which can hold the body back from healing and negatively affect our wellbeing. A balanced and regulated nervous system really is the foundation for building optimal health and functioning.
Reflexology is a powerful complementary therapy that supports the body by encouraging release of sympathetic tone and promotes a calming parasympathetic response within our nervous system. This powerful response is why reflexology is often described as a restorative and rebalancing therapy.
Support for health and wellbeing
Reflexology is used to support and complement the management of many health conditions. Within my reflexology practice I support women with management of chronic pain, management of stress, tension and anxiety and the related consequences of this. Reflexology is widely used to provide support for sleep issues and for supporting hormonal balance.
Reflexology is used to support women across the whole lifecourse, but it is particularly helpful during the significant transition periods of perimenopause and menopause. Perimenopause and menopause are times when the nervous system can become significantly dysregulated by challenges from a myriad of angles.
Midlife often presents its own unique set of pressures on women and fluctuating and declining hormones, hot flushes, anxiety and sleep disturbances all take their toll on wellbeing and nervous system balance. Many women find that reflexology is an invaluable therapy to successfully support them through and beyond this challenging time.
For many women who manage symptoms across the entire lifespan, regular reflexology helps to support them, balance their nervous system and forms an integral part of their self care and wellbeing.
If you would like to discuss whether reflexology could be appropriate to support your health and wellbeing, please contact me and we can discuss your requirements further. All exploratory calls are entirely complimentary.
Your journey at The Retreat
The Retreat is set in a beautiful, peaceful setting in rural Fylde, surrounded by calming and picturesque countryside.
For most of my clients, their relaxation will begin before they even reach my treatment room door, because immersing yourself in the beauty of nature is a perfect way to tune into your nervous system and begin your treatment.
A time and space that’s optimised for your wellbeing
The Retreat is a private, calming space and from the moment you arrive, your time here is dedicated entirely to supporting your health and wellbeing. All aspects of The Retreat space are designed to provide you with optimal levels of care, comfort and relaxation.
The air is HEPA filtered, the temperature and sounds are adjusted to your personal requirements and reverse osmosis filtered water is always provided. Your time here is always unrushed and focused entirely on your reflexology requirements and your state of wellbeing. Your treatment provides a time when you can turn off, relax and feel cared for, listened to and nurtured.
Holistic care tailored to you
Treatments are entirely bespoke and planned individually to meet your unique requirements. Every individual and their health and wellbeing needs are different, and as such your treatment plan will be fully individualised to reflect and respond to your unique needs.
My reflexology is planned and delivered holistically, meaning all aspects of your wellbeing will be considered in formulating your treatment plan. Our body and mind function holistically with our physical, psychological and emotional health working together in balance, not as isolated unrelated systems. This holistic approach underpins all my treatments.
Your initial appointment
We begin your first treatment with a full, comprehensive and unhurried consultation to ensure your individual needs are fully addressed in your personalised treatment plan.
We will discuss and agree your treatment requirements together, ensuring that your treatment will be delivered safely, holistically and tailored precisely to your individual needs.
About me
Getting the right fit with your therapist is very important and can influence the success of your treatments.
As such, I warmly welcome any discussions and questions you may have prior to booking your treatment with me.
I discovered reflexology during a challenging time when I was recovering from surgery. I was feeling very stressed and was most definitely stuck in “fight or flight” mode which I subsequently realised was severely hindering my healing. I was amazed how much and how quickly reflexology supported my healing. It basically power charged my entire healing experience! Ever since this time I have used reflexology to support my health and wellbeing and would not dream of not having my regular treatments!
My earlier career was in health care, as a registered nurse and public health practitioner. My training in reflexology has been a natural progression into complementary therapy which sits perfectly alongside the other aspects of health care I have trained in.
I studied for my Diploma in Reflexology at The Full Spectrum Training Centre in Manchester and qualified with a VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology in July 2026. I am a full member of The Association of Reflexologists.

Client's words
The health benefits from my reflexology sessions with Jane were really noticeable. Even after the first treatment I felt such a sense of calm and felt so deeply rested afterwards, at a time when I was navigating life as a stressed out, grieving, single mother / carer seeking help with my nervous system and overall health. Jane made me feel safe and nurtured with her warm and caring welcome each time, allowing her expertise to work wonders on my adrenal system and overall well-being. I highly recommend Jane for anyone needing support with their health and well-being, especially as a maintenance practice to support your nervous system and access a calmer, more regulated and balanced state.
Lisa
I had a wonderful reflexology session with Jane. The treatment was thoughtfully explained, and it was obvious that Jane has a strong knowledge of reflexology and a genuine passion for helping people feel their best. The session itself was deeply relaxing and left me feeling both refreshed and balanced.
Jane’s touch was confident, intuitive, and attentive to my needs. I felt listened to throughout, and the care taken before, during and after the treatment really stood out. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jane to anyone looking for a caring and professional reflexologist. I can’t wait to return!
